Established in 1879 as Kentucky's first college in the mountains, Union College is a small private liberal arts institution affiliated with the United Methodist Church. Union is located in southeastern Kentucky in Knox County. For 130+ years the College has provided the people of southeastern Kentucky and beyond with opportunities for a quality higher education.
This digitization project is a joint effort of the Weeks-Townsend Memorial Library and the Union College Alumni Association. The collection features the yearbooks Fledgling (1920) and Stespean (1921 to present), Union College catalogs and two editions of the college history, Union College 1879-1954 and Union College 1879-1979. The Stespean was not published for the years 1933-1934, 1937-1939, 1942-1944, 1981, 1993, 1995-1997, and 1999-2005.
